Michan Rhodes began showing a passion for design at the age of 7. From wallpapering her parents’ bedroom, to rearranging furniture, this passion followed her throughout her life. Michan came to Seattle with her husband Jerry Miller to start a new life. Her husband was the lead guitarist of a San Francisco 60’s band “Moby Grape”. It was through the band’s drummer (Don Stevenson) that Michan was introduced to the window industry. Don suggested to Michan that she should try her hand at selling windows through a window company he currently worked with. After 3 months of training she fell in love with the Job. She loved it so much that for the next 10 years she worked for several window companies. During this time Michan became frustrated because all of the companies she worked with were not executing the design and quality that she starved for. So Michan decided to create her own company where she could offer the professionalism and quality that she strived for. The company she started was named Keystone Windows & Doors after the street she lived on in Green Lake. From there Michan then opened her 1st showroom on 4th Ave S, taking an old building and remodeling it to create a friendly, comfortable and informative place for homeowners and builders to come and view products (such as vinyl and wood window frames) up close. Because her company has a great reputation she can insure her employees and installers continuous work which has been a good way to have longevity with her employees.
